Say My Name {Link Up}

The Vintage Modern Wife: Say My Name Link Up

Tonight I'm linking up with The Vintage Modern Wife, Brunch with Amber and Princess of the Panhandle to give a little history behind my blog.

I started this blog in October 2008 because of my friends Nicole and Ami. Of course Ami had to do a little twisting of the arm, but not much. It usually doesn't take much. I had just had Jaxon (5 months before) and lived in Albuquerque, away from family, so figured it would be a fun way to keep them in the loop on Jax's day to day antics. Plus, it would help me remember Jaxon's babyhood since I have a terrible memory.

The name? Well, I'm a little embarrassed to admit this, but it came straight from Keeping up with the Kardashians. I believe the show had just started and, of course, I was obsessed. I am a reality TV junkie, remember? And honestly, it fits. You visit my blog and you "Keep Up with the Pearsons". I like to keep it simple, People.

I didn't think I would love having a blog as much as I do. My favorite thing is scrolling through the archives, clicking on a random month and reading about Jaxon and Reese as babies. It makes me happy. Jaxon loves to look back at himself as a baby, especially now that he has a baby and likes to compare himself to her. One day I will publish this little blog and have a hard cover, in the mean time I hope Blogger doesn't crash.

Now please enjoy a few pics from 'the old days'...

Happies and Crappies

The Vintage Modern Wife: Happies and Crappies Link Up

EEEK! Happies and Crappies are really late this week. I didn't forget, I just didn't make it a priority. Brian &  have made a new rule that we will 'unplug' at 9:00pm. No matter what. Well, that means that after work stuff, Pinterest, FB, SongPop, Blog reading and other random web surfing, blogging gets pushed to the bottom of the list. Oh well. Better late than never.

Happies

- Rodeo break!! Woot woot! Tucson schools get 2 days off at the end of February to celebrate the rodeo being in town.

- The kiddos and I were able to have some fun with our fave triplets at the Children's Museum and Chick-fil-A. Oh and Target too! All in one day. Yes, Ami & I may be a little crazy, but that's how we roll and we enjoyed every (ok, almost ) minute of it.

This girl has no fear!

- Another BIG snowfall in Tucson on Monday. No joke! We only got 2 1/2 inches where we live, but where school is, they got up to 6! CRAZY! It was so fun to watch the kids at school go completely crazy to see so much snow

A little hot chocolate & warm jammies to celebrate the snow

- A mini girls night out! Courtney, Michelle & I enjoyed some shopping, mingling and a dinner sans kids on Tuesday night. Downeast basics may seriously be my new favorite store. It has some super cute stuff! And one of my favorite friends, Nicole, was there too. Doesn't get much better than that!

Crappies

- Reese forgot we were on a mini vacation and was up before the sun each morning. Nice.

- Reese's cough is back. Ugh. This thing just never goes away! I am so done with listening to her cough nonstop. It makes me sad.

-Reese tripped and smacked her head right on the edge of Jaxon's bed. He forehead looks awful.

- Reese mastered the art of a temper tantrum. And she practiced all weekend long.

Oh. Poor Reesey had all the crappies this week. Oh well. Some weeks are like that. We're in a new one sweet girl, let's make it great!

Happies & Crappies

Scissors and a Whisk: Happies and Crappies Link Up

Happies

- The Q & U wedding! Cottonwood Kindergarten has  a tradition of marrying the letters Q & U on Valentine's Day. It is AH.DORABLE! We go all out... bride, groom, bouquets, Here Comes the Bride, dancing, cake cutting, rings. I mean. All Out! It's my favorite day in kindergarten.

- Reese has a word! Well, I think she does. I've decided that when she says, "Bu bu bu" She is calling Jaxon, Bubba. It's happened several times this week and I'm telling myself it's what she calls him. And since I'm the official record keeper of the family, I'm going with it!

- It snowed. A lot. I still can't get over it.

- Brian & I had a peaceful, quiet, nice lunch on Valentine's Day. The highlight was the free Pizza Cookie we got because they forgot to bring our appetizers out on time. Score!

- Jaxon had a great t-ball game today. I missed it because I was with Reese at Movers & Shakers, but Brian was raving about it.

- Vail Pride Day. It's a day for our school district to show off all of the fantastic work our students do on a daily basis. It's always fun to run into former colleagues and students. And we had the cutest display of all. Hands down.

100 Year Old Portraits

Seriously. How cute are these??

The best team in the district. By far.

Jaxon with his dragon.

From what I gather, he drew the pattern and Ms. Sharon
sewed it. Very cute. He is quite proud.

Crappies

- I didn't win Teacher of the Year for CWE. :( Boo. But, I'm genuinely happy for the teacher who won. If I had to lose to someone I'm glad it was her.  And it's an honor just to be nominated, right?

- We had the worst service at Pei Wei today. It was terrible. It took over 20 minutes to get our food and to top it off 2 of the 3 dishes were wrong. Ugh. So we had to wait another 20 minutes for food. Not fun with 2 hungry and cranky kids. The worst part was the manager was not even sincere in her apology, if you could call it that. "They are remaking your food. Here's a $10 gift card to use on your next visit." Not an apology, Lady. And yeah you're going to remake our food! I'm still fired up. We go there at least once a week so we were disappointed in the way they treated a regular customer. So what's a customer to do to show their disappointment? I didn't clean up after Reese. Oh and the girl can make a mess!

- I did not get enough sleep this week. I was awake before 4:30am each day and asleep after 10:30pm each night. That just doesn't work for me.

Snow? In Tucson? In 2 Days?

That's right. Hell has frozen over. It has snowed in Tucson, not once, but twice. And I don't mean a little dusting. I mean a full-on, cover the ground, big flakes type of snow.
We woke up Saturday morning to a nice 'snow storm'.

Reese & I enjoyed the wintery scene in the comfort of our jammies.

Jaxon had to be in on the action

Reese & I then got ready for Movers and Shakers, but it was still snowing, so we checked it out before we left.

While Reese & I were moving, Jaxon & Brian were busy building snowmen and having snowball fights.

By noon on Saturday all traces of snow were gone.
The snowy day was just a distant memory.

Until today.

Reese was totally fine under the patio, but once the snow hit her, she flipped out!

Is that not some crazy stuff???
Had I not seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't have believe it.
