Eating & Sleeping... At the Same Time?!

This video is too cute! While eating dinner tonight, Jax fell asleep on the job. I mean why not? Eating and sleeping are his 2 favorite things so why not combine the two? Make sure to listen closely, you can hear him start to snore :)

FINALLY!

I am SUPER EXCITED! Jaxon FINALLY rolled over! Brian was playing with him this morning while I was getting ready and of course he rolled over! By the time I got downstairs, the rolling had ended. Later this afternoon, I decided to try on my own. Sure enough he did it!! I am so happy! I thought he was never going to roll over! As promised, or warned, on my last post I have video footage for you! Here is our little Joey rolling over. Yippee!

Flip Video

Last week Brian and I were at Costco and I started browsing the video camera section to see what I could ask for Christmas. I came upon this VERY cool Flip Video Camera. It is the size of a regular camera, but it takes up to 60 minutes of video! This is perfect for us I thought. So I casually mention it to Brian, hoping that he'll say "All right, we'll see." Well, he did even better... "Do you want to get it now?" WHAT?! Of course! A new toy to play with. So I took a video of Jax making a mess of lunch, and I am going to try to upload it. If this works and it is simple... watch out! I will inundate my blog with videos of Jaxon and Lucy!

Heard in Kindergarten Today

Just a few funny things heard in my class today....
* We are standing up for the Pledge and a little boy announces "Mrs. Pearson, my butt really itches!"
* A few minutes after this another boy comes out of the bathroom and yells, " I have to go to the nurse! I peed my pants. Look Mrs. Pearson, it's right there. Look what I did."
* The mosquito (see 1st blog) comes up to me and says,
Mosquito: "Mrs. Pearson, something bit me."
Me: "What bit you?"
Mosquito: "Obama."
Me: "Obama? Did you say Obama? Who's Obama?"
Mosquito: "I don't know, but he bit me? Can I have a band-aid?"

Never a dull moment I tell you! What will tomorrow bring I wonder?

Tuesday Update

Not too long ago Jaxon discovered his feet. Every time he grabs them it is like he has found a coveted treasure, it's pretty cute. Well, last night I go into his room to check on him one last time before turning in myself and I found him fast asleep grabbing his feet in the air. It was too precious. Of course by the time I came back with the camera he had let go. How cute is he?

On a separate note. Let me update you on our furry baby. In January, the night before Brian & I were to drive to ABQ from Tucson, we discovered that Lucy had this "thing" on one of her toes. It looked like a strawberry and she would not stop chewing on it. To make a long story short, we took her to the vet and they admitted her for the day and extracted whatever it was that was in there. Go forward to February and she has that same thing on the same paw. Take her to the vet again and again they do "surgery". The vet said if it happened again they may have to amputate!!! Now, fast forward to this weekend and lo and behold, what do we catch Lucy doing? Gnawing at her paw like it was going out of style. Well, Brian not wanting to take her to the vet and face ANOTHER vet bill and me not wanting to have a 3 pawed dog we take matters into our own hands. Brian shaves down the fur and inspects the paw for anything offensive. We can't see anything, so figure she is just being obsessive and put on her E-collar. Here is poor little Lucy with her new accessory. I may have it bedazzled....

Ok, so I just can't get enough of this little boy. Who could ever resist this face?

Rough Day

Today was the wrong day to be a Pearson! Brian woke up determined to have Jaxon role over once and for all. He said that Jax was going to do tummy time until he did. Well, that did not go over so well! He will only put up with tummy time for about 3 minutes and then watch out! Boy did he let us know how he felt about that, and do you think he rolled over? Of course not. After about 10 minutes of trying to calm him down he took a much needed nap. When nap time was over, it was time to eat! He has really taken to eating solids, so I figured today would be no exception. Wrong again! Jax decided that he did not like carrots today and spit them out repeatedly at me. Finally we got this under control and he started eating like a good boy again, when he thought it would be much more tasty to eat his hands! I would give him a spoonful of carrots and he would help by shoving his hand or hands in his mouth. This is how this conversation went...
Anabelle (using her best teacher voice) : "Jaxon, No." Pull hand down
Jaxon: Left hand in mouth
Anabelle: "I said no. Keep your hands down." Pull hand down
Jaxon: Right hand in mouth
Anabelle: "Jaxon, that is enough of that." Pull hand down
Jaxon: Both hands in mouth

Okay, you get the idea. We did this for what seemed like an eternity. Until he started spitting food at me again and then I figured we were done.

Well, you think this would be the end of the messy day... nope it only gets better. About 20 minutes later, Jax starts going number 2. I'm not too worried about because it was Brian's turn to change this poopy diaper. Once we can tell he is finished taking care of business, Brian takes him to the other room to be changed. Then I hear, "Anabelle! You put his diaper on too loosely. I need your help." Sure enough, poop is everywhere! And I thought I had gotten out of this poopy diaper! Ha! Into the bathtub he went, it was that bad. Of course, Jaxon being a boy he had to "shower" me with love once he got into the tub. Gotta love little boys! He was laughing the entire time, it's a good thing he's cute.

What do I blog about?

Well, it was only a matter of time I hop on the blogging bandwagon. First my friend Nicole, then Ami, then Debi & Jen. I am not one to be left behind so here I am! After I set up the page I was asking Ami, "What am I even going to blog about?" She said I should write about Jaxon's days or kindergarten stories. "Everyone loves to hear stories about kindergarteners.", she says. So I have something fairly funny that happened Friday. These kids I tell you!
I have this one little boy who we call "The Mosquito". He is tiny & buzzes around the school, literally, he looks like a 3 year old. This kid is a handful to say it nicely. He escapes from the classroom and runs up and down the hall screaming, "You can't catch me!" He pulls down his pants in front of everyone. Ok, you get the picture. On Friday another boy was being getting on my last nerve and I look him straight in the eye and say, "Johnny, look at my face. How do I look ?" The mosquito says, "Ooohh. That is her mean face! Johnny she means business." What do you do or say after that? I still put "Johnny" in time out and smiled at Mosquito and told him that I did indeed mean business so he better make good choices.
