This post was originally supposed to be one, but in the middle of it I made the mistake of calling Ami. Oh how I regret this! She suckered me into doing 30 Blogs in 30 Days. So, here you have part 1 of 3 for Halloween. After these halloween posts I have no idea what I'm going to do. Ideas would be much appreciated!
Halloween turned out to be quite successful! At first I was VERY worried. I finally showed Jaxon his costume on Thursday and he disliked it very much! When he saw it for the first time his eyes got huge, his mouth made an "O" and he stepped back, "Scary Mama. I no wear dat." Hmmm... not the reaction I was going for! We tried and tried and nothing, he refused to wear it. I even thought of making him a shirt that said, "I have a costume, but refuse to wear it." Anyway, we left it lying around the house to see. He did play with it and talked about it but when you'd ask him if he'd wear it, he'd say, "No. I no wear costume." All righty then.
Anywho, we didn't get to carve our pumpkins this year. Brian has been sooo busy with his new job and I had parent teacher conferences each evening, we just didn't get to it. So instead I decided to let Jaxon make his own jack-o-lantern out of a paper plate (sometimes I feel that kindergarten prepared me well for motherhood!)
Like any good teacher I made a sample. Notice it to the left of Jaxon.

And now notice Jaxon taking off the pieces!
Ta daa!!
So proud! He even had to Skype with Lola & Abu to show them.
Tomorrow... Halloween at Gymboree!

That would've been a great project for me to do with the kids....how did I not remember that???
That was adorable...I love that you do so many crafts with him! I suck in that department!
Oh and btw...I remember the day I found out I was pregnant too... what a night!
I am so proud of you for letting him decorate his own jack-o-lantern, even though it didn't look like the sample : ) You are such a kindergarten teacher! Can't wait to see all the blogs this month...
Kudos to you, my friend! And don't worry, I'll help you think of things to blog about!
