Howl-o-Ween

For the first time, we took the kids to Howl-o-Ween at the zoo. We were told that it was bumper to bumper people and quite crazy. So I planned on being at the zoo about 20 minutes before it opened. Boy, was I proud of me when we were in the zoo parking lot 35 minutes early! Yahoo!! We are NEVER on time anywhere, much less early.

We had a super fun time. Our timing was absolutely perfect. We waited 30 minutes in line, but once inside, the crowd was pretty mild so we were able to enjoy the displays and stroll along at a leisurely pace.

The cutest strawberry I've ever seen!

Waiting, waiting, waiting

Entering Candyland, which happens to be our favorite board game at the moment.

Reese is totally thrilled about the Pirates.

Still not impressed.

Jaxon was in complete awe with Batman. He cannot stop talking about meeting Batman.

Seriously, Reese could not be bothered.

For us, Howl-o-Ween is a definite must do again next year!

On Halloween night, we weren't sure if Reese would be up for Trick-or-Treating. We ended up taking her to just 3 houses on our street to show her off to our neighbors, then Brian and Jaxon went to the neighborhood across the street to get some loot. They were out for an hour and had a blast. Jax came back so happy and excited about Halloween!

First house!

Waiting at the 2nd house

Off to the third.

And... Reese is done.

Woot woot! His pumpkin was overflowing with goodies!
Good ones too!
For the first time this year, I feel as if we did a good job with a holiday. Whew! I'm on the right track, just in time too.

Great job, Mama! I don't know why, but the picture of Reese with the Pirates totally cracks me up!! They were both adorable! Glad you had fun at How-o-ween!
