This Kid!

I have never had a toddler before so I don't know if they all come up with crazy things, but Jaxon comes up with crazy ideas! The other day he drug his rocking horse into the living room from the playroom (why wouldn't he? why should toys stay in the playroom?) and was pretending to be a cowboy. Complete with cowboy hat and lasso! So cute.

That's not the crazy part. Later, I was talking to my mom on the phone and of course Jaxon had to talk to her too. Well, he takes the phone and says, "I take you for a ride."Puts the phone on the horse and takes Lola for a ride! Hilarious! Who thinks of that? Are all toddlers so creative?

The next day, he and I are sitting on the couch and he says, "Shhh. T-Rex coming." Yes, he now sees dinosaurs and says they are coming to our house. Anyway, so I play along for a bit. Then he says, "I talk to T-Rex. I tell him about my owie." "You're going to tell T-Rex about your owie?" "Yeah. Call him." "What do you mean call him?" "On da phone. Call T-Rex on da phone and I tell him about my owie." OKAAAAY. What do I do? I can't call Brian because he is on a plane. Of course!

Call Lola and Abu! I call and tell my mom that Jaxon wants to talk to T-Rex. So guess who comes to the phone as T-Rex? Abu to the rescue! He gets on the phone using his best dinosaur voice and I sooo wish I would have had my video camera. Jaxon's face was priceless! For a few seconds he actually thought he was talking to T-Rex! Then he realized it was Abu and started giggling, "ABUUU! Abu!" It was so stinkin' cute! Abu was quite the sport! I think he won Grandfather of the Year that night!

Since I'm writing about cute things Jaxon says... I put him in time out the other morning for throwing a tantrum. Usually when his 2 minutes are up, I go over to him tell him why he went to time out, make him say sorry then give him a hug. Well, that particular morning I was at my wits end with him and really didn't feel like talking to him. So, when the timer went off, I just told him he was done and could go play. He comes over to me gives me a hug and says, "Sowee Mama. You be nice to me now!" Seriously!!! I could not believe it! He almost went back to time out, but I really didn't want another 2 minutes of screaming.

This kid is incorrigible!

ABQ in October is THE BEST!

Seriously, I LOVE Albuquerque in October! The weather starts cooling off, the leaves turn color and balloons are up in the air! It is a sight I never get tired of... Driving to work and watching the hot air balloons float through the sky. I will truly miss that about Albuquerque.
The first 2 weeks of October are Balloon Fiesta week. As you know, for the past 2 years we have tried to go to the Balloon Glow in the evening with the Bunches. A Balloon Glow is when all of the hot air balloons turn their burners on once the sun goes down. It is really cool, they literally "glow". Well, the last 2 years the glow has been canceled due to bad weather (that I will not miss). Brian & I knew that this would most likely be our last October in ABQ so we made it a point to take Jaxon to a Mass Ascension before the Fiesta was over. The thing about the Mass Ascension is that it starts at 6:45 am! No joke. We left our house at 6:00 am. UGH! But it was SOOO worth it! Thankfully, it has been an unusually warm October so it wasn't freezing cold like it usually is.
Of course, Jaxon LOVED it! He has been into looking for balloons in the morning in our backyard or on the way to his babysitter's. So to be up close was great for him.
If you ever find yourself in ABQ for the Balloon Fiesta, I highly recommend going to a Mass Ascension on a week day. There was hardly any traffic, parking was easy and the crowd was not as bad as on the weekends.
Warning... There are LOTS of pictures!
Enjoying some cereal on the go.

I was looking forward to the Breakfast Burritos. Sooo Good!

I loved the farm scene under the balloon.

"WOOOOW!"

I made sure there was proof I was there this time!

I wish there weren't so many people in the background. Guess this won't be our Christmas card picture. I'm telling you... loads of balloon pictures!Yes, this is a hot air balloon! Jaxon was in awe.
All I ever ask for is a good family picture... is that too much to ask??

I cannot tell you how incredibly nervous this makes me! I NEVER let Jaxon out of his stroller in public places like this. The only place is the zoo. He doesn't walk in stores or at the mall no where. So to let him walk around by himself with thousands of people gave me a little panic attack! This is me trying to hold his hand and him saying, "No Mama! I walk myself. Weave me Awone!"

He did make a friend.

My 2 handsome boys

There were about 500 balloons on the field

So pretty...

My sweet boy! Safe & sound in his stroller... just how I like it :)

The crew for the Darth Vader balloon are dressed as Storm Troopers!

Jaxon's favorite balloon

The highlight for Jaxon was not the balloons. It was the firetruck we saw on the way out!

We are Ninjas of Efficiency & Organization.

Oh yes we are! You have to be when you are crazy enough to have your friend with triplets drive 7 hours for a weekend visit! And by "we" I mean Ami & I (because we all know husbands aren't so much!)
It was The Bunch Families 2nd (well 4th if you count sans babies & 6th if you count Ami's visits) annual visit to The Land of Enchantment and once again we had a wonderful time. I am constantly amazed at how relaxed and easy it is for them to visit us. I am also amazed at how well our kids played together. There really was no issue with the kids getting along. They walked into our house and made themselves at home, as if they come here every day. I also have to give Jaxon LOTS of kudos here! We all know that 2-year-olds aren't exactly known for sharing, but Jax did great! He had no problem sharing ALL of his toys with not just one, but THREE kids. I can honestly say, that Jaxon has never had any friends his age visit and I was genuinely concerned. The only issue was the first day when he would announce, "That's MY car. That MY airplane.", but that seemed to go away in less than 24 hours. I was seriously impressed.

Okay now on to what you really want to see... PICTURES! And yes, I was at this little gathering, there is just no proof of it!

We got lots of outside play time!
At one point Brian Pearson was left alone with all 4 kids and Ami & I worried a bit, but when we walked out he had it ALL under control!

Dinner Time!
For the record, my future daughter-in-law liked my cooking!

And yes, that is my BIG boy sitting in a big boy chair and drinking from a big boy cup. Sniff sniff. What's next, potty training and a toddler bed???

We also did a group bath! Now, I did take pictures, but it was hard to crop out all of the "parts". Here's a picture of what Jaxon thought of the whole thing. I think he was a bit overwhelmed!

How cute is he??

With Friday came a trip to the ZOO! Our favorite!

This one's to prove that we did see animals!

Waiting for lunch to be served.

See, he's even sharing his sippy cup!

Of course Ami & I wanted pictures of the 4 kids together. Well, that didn't happen so much!

Clearly, Ethan did NOT want his picture taken!

Back at home... more play time!

LOVE how Colton is sitting on the chair.

Cheers!

Who knows what this is...

Playing nicely in the sandbox... they ♥ each other!

There's nothing better than kids in footie jammies!

Colton diggin' the chair!

Jaxon was drinking out of Brian's cup and Colton was fascinated! It was so funny to watch him watch Jaxon. He was so serious.

After morning play time we headed to Rudy's BBQ for lunch. No pictures were taken to capture this even, but it was delicious!

This weekend was also the 1st weekend of Albuquerque's Balloon Fiesta. So, just like last year, we loaded up the strollers, jackets, hats, snacks, sippy cups and kids and headed to Balloon Fiesta Park.

And just like last year, the Balloon Glow was canceled! {Sigh}After we walked 5 miles to the gate (ok, so maybe not exactly 5 miles... but it sure felt like it! I mean look at the path behind them, plus we had WAY more to walk!)

Ami & I must be glutens for punishment, because in the last few minutes before the Bunches headed out, we tried one last time for a group kid picture.

Ethan was ready! Jax & Colton, not so much!

Since just sitting on a bench wasn't torturous enough, let's add some Halloween headbands!
Could Ethan be any happier? Could Jaxon be any more dramatic?!

That's all folks! Another Pearson-Bunch Bonanza for the record books! Keep 'em coming!
